Box-receiver for plastic bottles appeared in Kyiv. In turn, it gives food to street animals
A box for receiving plastic bottles "Yapomogabox" has appeared in Kyiv, which provides food for homeless animals in exchange for plastic.
It was installed at 71 Yuriia Illienka Street, close to Lukianivska metro station.
"Now each of us can do two good deeds at the same time, i.e. properly dispose of plastic and feed stray animals," the initiative's creators, a public organization "Yapomoga" say.
How the box works:
- a person puts a used plastic bottle in the box
- after that, the box gives 50 grams of food to animals living on the street
Later, a crusher will be equipped inside the box, and a solar panel will be installed on the roof for autonomous work. The director of the Yapomoga project, Rufat Raimov, told the publication "Our Kyiv."
In addition, they plan to place a QR code on the boxes. It will allow everyone to see a report on the amount of help provided by the box. In particular, how much plastic was disposed of and how much food was given.
They want to place "Yapomogabox" in every district of Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine.
