Kipiani will appeal the court ruling on "The Case of Vasyl Stus" book

Historian and journalist Vakhtang Kipiani, together with his defense, will appeal the decision of the court of the first instance to ban the sale of Kipiani's book "The Case of Vasyl Stus" until the information about the People's Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk is removed from it.
Kipiani wrote about it on his Facebook page.
"In an hour, the book "The Case of Vasily Stus" was sold out again. All warehouses are empty. Hello to Putin, the godfather. But there will be a new edition! We will appeal to this disgraceful decision of Judge Zastavenko. Her voice trembled, she probably felt shame," the message reads.

Kipiani's lawyer Viacheslav Yakubenko informed that this book (with all the challenged fragments) can be freely printed and bought at least until consideration in the appellate court.
Today, the Darnytsia District Court of Kyiv partially satisfied the claim of the People's Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk against the Vivat publishing house and the historian and journalist Vakhtang Kipiani for a ban on the publication and distribution of the book "Criminal Case of Vasyl Stus."
Medvedchuk sued the author of the book about Stus Vakhtang Kipiani in late August 2019. He denies 9 episodes in the book and demands that its distribution be banned.
"The Case of Vasyl Stus" was published by Vivat in 2019. The book contains documents from the archives of the former KGB of the USSR about the high-profile case of the poet Vasyl Stus, testimonies of witnesses, letters of the poet from prison, memoirs of his relatives and friends. Medvedchuk was appointed Stus's state attorney when the poet was arrested a second time in 1980.
