The partnership between Ukraine and the United States will grow stronger regardless of the election results - the Ambassador of Ukraine
The strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, and Washington's support toward the Ukrainian people, will only grow regardless of who wins this year's US election.
The Ambassador of Ukraine in the United States Volodymyr Yelchenko expressed his confidence about it during a webinar organized by Manor College on Thursday.
"I am confident that, regardless of who wins this year's US election, our friendship and strategic partnership will continue to grow, as both Ukraine and the United States expect to sustain these relations," the diplomat said.
He noted that we had always maintained the bipartisan support of the Ukrainian people in the United States since Ukraine's independence, and even earlier.
"It doesn't matter who ran the White House or which party, Republican or Democratic, controlled the House of Representatives or the Senate. Today, when Ukraine is facing the biggest challenges in its recent history, US support and bipartisan consensus stay strong," Yelchenko said.
The ambassador also thanked the American side for its "leadership position in maintaining transatlantic unity and increasing pressure on Russia for its aggressive and malicious behavior." So, he stressed the importance of maintaining international sanctions until Russia leaves Donbas and Crimea.
"The Crimean Declaration, opposition to the Nord Stream II project, strong sanctions policy, assistance in security and defense, including lethal weapons, help in transforming our Armed Forces are examples of how strong Ukrainian-American relations are," the diplomat said.
On November 3, the United States will hold elections to the White House, and to both institutions of Congress.
