Dessert Day: Top 5 most delicious vegan desserts
Every year on October 14, the United States celebrates National Dessert Day, a day when people can satisfy their cravings for sweets and try a new dessert. The word "dessert" itself comes from the French word "desservir", which literally means "remove what was served". It applied to food served after they had removed all meals from the table.
Around the 15th century, chefs added a lot of sugar to their flavorful dishes. Probably that's why we now associate dessert with sweets. Starting in the 19th century, a variety of desserts became popular in the United States.
The best way to celebrate National Dessert Day is to try one of the many traditional desserts. For some, it may be an apple pie or a brownie. Others can choose a cake, Napoleon, chocolate chip cookies, apple chips, or chia pudding. "Eat well" has prepared the top 5 not only delicious but also more healthy traditional desserts in vegan interpretations.
