When asked about his actions in case of failure in the presidency, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that he would not cling to power.

He told about this in an interview on the British show BBC HARDtalk.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi considers the issue of ending the war in Donbas difficult. Despite this opinion, they have made substantial progress in unlocking the Normandy process. The President noted that they had brought the President of the Russian Federation back to the negotiating table in the Normandy process.

"It's a tough question. Yes, I want to do it faster. Because I understand that every passing day we lose our people. But still we unblocked the Norman process. It is a dialogue. French President Emmanuel Macron really supports Ukraine. Mrs. Merkel too. We have returned the Russian President," said Zelenskyi.

He noted that in a year, Ukraine returned 140 Ukrainians held before in prisons in the occupied territories. We also see a truce in Donbas.

"We do not really react to single shelling. We should not make the conflict escalate. But there are combat losses, and the major result. For 75 days of combat losses, we lost one person," Zelenskyi added.

"If I can't end the war, then we need another person who can end this tragic story between our countries," the President said.

He added that he never clung to ratings and power, and resigning is not a problem for him.

On October 7 and 8, the President of Ukraine paid an official visit to the United Kingdom. Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. They signed an agreement on political cooperation, free trade, and strategic partnership.
