The drop in the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine slowed to 5.8% for 8 months of 2020. Some industries have even shown growth.

The Review of economic activity from January to August 2020 shows it on the website of the Ministry of Economy.

They report that in August, with continuing adaptive quarantine, almost all economic activities slowed down, and the retail segment and construction showed growth.

In particular, consumer goods production, road construction, transport, trade, and agriculture (because of the active phase of the harvesting campaign in all regions) improved their dynamics. The index of business activity expectations improved compared to the previous month.

Thus, the slowdown in the consolidated index of production of goods and services decreased to 6.5% (7.3% in 8 months of 2020). The Ministry of Economy estimates a reduction in GDP by 5.8%.
