Servant of the People allows the possibility of imposing a state of emergency in Ukraine and postponing the election due to COVID-19

Oleksandr Kachura, a People's Deputy from the Servant of the People party, admitted the possibility of imposing a state of emergency in Ukraine and postponing local elections because of the situation with the coronavirus.

He spoke about it in the talk show "Confrontation" on NEWSONE TV channel.

"The available statistics are data on the number of people tested. They can be multiplied, but not exactly divided. And if there is a critical situation, and during the local elections, we will cross the verge of 10 thousand patients per day or more, we will need to make a political decision, pull ourselves together and impose a state of emergency," the people's deputy said.

He clarified that some people's deputies, members of the Cabinet, and representatives of the President's Office support this opinion.

"First, it is a question of health, and second, it is a question of the legitimacy of the election. If people do not come to the elections, then why should they take place?" Kachura explained.
