Microsoft signed a memorandum with the Ministry of Digital Transformation: the company is investing $500 million in the Ukrainian market
Microsoft has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Under its terms, the company will invest about $500 million (this amount may vary) in the development of cloud services in the Ukrainian market.
Representatives of the company and the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced it at a briefing on October 2, ain.ua. reports.
These investments also will go to the construction of two data centers of the company in Ukraine.
If they store the data domestically, Ukrainian government agencies will be able to use the company's cloud services.
The agreements also provide for discounts or special conditions on Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and other cloud services for Ukrainian government agencies and organizations; projects in education, etc.
The company will teach students to use their products. The plans are to hold a programming competition in Ukraine.
According to the head of the ministry Mykhailo Fedorov, the government is considering the transfer of "Diia 2.0" services to the Microsoft cloud.
