The Servant of the People people’s deputy declares Ukraine’s willingness to help Azerbaijan: Kuleba urges not to provoke hostility

The diplomat wrote about this on Facebook, commenting on the statement of Liudmila Marchenko, a people's deputy of the Servant of the People party, about the possibility of providing military assistance to Azerbaijan.

"In conditions of active armed confrontation, many casualties, and destruction, I once again call on everyone to make balanced statements and comments that would not spark emotions, provoke confrontation and hostility, but conform to the official position of the Ukrainian state. In short, control your emotions and do not play with other people's emotions," Kuleba said.

The Minister added that Ukraine is home to many Armenian and Azerbaijani diasporas. In this context, he stressed the importance of ensuring peace and interethnic harmony for all ethnic communities living in Ukraine.

Kuleba also called on the representatives of the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities not to succumb to provocations and to abide by the current legislation in Ukraine.

Earlier, commenting on military action between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh on the air of the "Ukraine 24" channel, the people's deputy Liudmila Marchenko said that Ukraine is ready to provide military assistance to Azerbaijan if necessary.

Marchenko is the head of the Subcommittee on Legislation on the status of the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Rules of Procedure, Deputy Ethics. At the time of her election to the Verkhovna Rada, she worked as a leading specialist in the Department of Training and Personnel Development of Epicentr K LLC.

Armenia and Azerbaijan resumed hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh on the morning of September 27, accusing each other of shooting border areas and provoking violence. Both countries declared martial law and mobilization. The fighting has already resulted in military casualties on both sides and many civilian victims.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Kuleba declared Ukraine's position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict:

"We are all closely watching how these events develop (in Nagorno-Karabakh – ed.)… War always means grief, casualties, destruction… In our opinion, now the major thing in the Caucasus is not to intensify already very high emotions… One of the cornerstones of Ukraine's foreign policy is to support the territorial integrity of states. We have consistently supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, just as Azerbaijan has supported our territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, and this principle remains unchanged for us," Kuleba said.
